Quilting Page
Quilting has been for me a lifesaver. I had wanted to learn to quilt
from childhood and it was only with the advent of the rotary cutter that
I was able to learn and then grow in my quilting abilities. I am by
no means an expert in quilting as I continue to learn everyday something
new that excites and improves my quilting skills. The first quilts
I completed thrilled me to no end. Now I look on those quilts and wonder
why I thought that they were so wonderfully constructed. Needless
to say my skills have improved from those early days.
Several years ago I experienced a debilitating
illness that has left me pretty much homebound and out of the active work
force. Quilting became a means for me to learn many of the skills necessary
for skills needed in my daily life to heal.
Recently I ventured out into doing patchwork
using templates to accomplish many of the traditional quilt patterns that
I so loved and wanted to do.
On the pages to follow you will find a
series of different blocks that follow different themes. The first
in this series will be blocks that have some Spiritual theme. Please
check back regularly for a variety of patterns that I will be adding as time
goes on.
So many wonderful things are continuing
to happen here on these pages. The Block of the Month, Foundation Patterns,
quilting stencils and the Mystery Quilt series are now a reality,
Without a doubt there will be many more additions to come! These endevors
have been a real challenge but one that I look forward to as I explore more
and more my own love of quilting. So now it is time to....
come and journey with
me from darkness into New Life...
